In the past twenty years hundreds of infants and young children have died after being left in vehicles, usually by accident. When turning the vehicle off, drivers of the Charger are reminded to check the back seat. The Polestar 2 doesn’t offer a back seat reminder.

The Dodge Charger has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags help prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The Dodge Charger weighs 984 to 1263 pounds more than the Polestar 2. The NHTSA advises that heavier cars are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

Dodge’s powertrain warranty covers the Charger 1 year and 10,000 miles longer than Polestar covers the 2. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles. Coverage on the Polestar 2 ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.

There are over 77 times as many Dodge dealers as there are Polestar dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Charger’s warranty.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2024 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Dodge vehicles are better in initial quality than Polestar vehicles. With 15 fewer problems per 100 vehicles, JD Power ranks Dodge higher than Polestar.

The Charger Daytona R/T Coupe’s standard electric motors produces 20 more horsepower (496 vs. 476) than the Polestar 2’s electric motors. The Charger Daytona Scat Pack Coupe’s standard electric motors produces 194 more horsepower (670 vs. 476) and 81 lbs.-ft. more torque (627 vs. 546) than the Polestar 2’s electric motors.

As tested in Motor Trend the Charger Daytona Scat Pack Coupe is faster than the Polestar 2:

Motor Trend magazine performs a classic 0 to 100 MPH and back to 0 MPH performance test. The Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack Coupe completed this feat in only 11.8 seconds. It took the Polestar 2 Performance Package 14.2 seconds.

On the EPA test cycle the Charger Daytona R/T Coupe w/20" Wheels gets better mileage than the Polestar 2 Performance Pack (104 city/91 hwy vs. 95 city/87 hwy MPGe).

The Charger Scat Pack’s launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The Polestar 2 doesn’t offer launch control.

The Charger offers an optional heads-up display that projects speed in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Polestar 2 doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the Charger has standard extendable sun visors. The Polestar 2 doesn’t offer extendable visors.
